Hi. My name is Catherine Postawska, you may or may have not heard of

I used to be the owner of "Lady Of Fashion, European Bridal Salon", a booming
wedding salon in New Westminster, British Columbia. Yes, that wedding salon at

our design studio...
Are You Getting Your Dress From China,... Too?

When you walk into almost any wedding and prom dress salon in BC... Those
dresses you see hanging on the walls and wonderfully displayed on beautifully
bodied mannequins...
They are NOT made here. Here's how it works:
People make those dresses over-seas for pennies in places like Vietnam, Thailand,
China, Hong-Kong, then, they sell them to dealers, and the dealers sell them to
places like... here.
The salons here buy those dresses, they let you pick from thousands of designs...
and they "alter" the design for you.
For this, they charge more than a pretty penny! Sure, they are nice dresses, but they
are often much less pretty and glossy than they looked like in those magazine
pictures. And once you get it, you're pretty much stuck with it, because you
already paid for it.
And... You Have To Wait A Minimum
3 Months For Your Gown!
That's IF it gets here on time.
Sometimes, it can take up to 5 or 6 months.
I can't tell you how many horror stories I've heard of girls not having their gown,
and the wedding or prom being just a week away!
I heard the stories because those were the same girls that would come into my store
in tears crying out for help, after hearing from a friend that some European lady
would be able to make her a dress in time.
Try walking into any other salon and asking for a gown in 3-4 weeks. You'll
probably get laughed at. Actually, you'll probably need an appointment first just to
come in and ask the question.

Frequently Asked Questions
Here the answers to some common questions I get all the time:
1. What is a custom made dress, is it cheaper than ordering
a ready-made dress, what is the difference?
A custom made dress or gown is basically a gown that we take from a "picture"
inside of your imagination, put it on paper, then create the patterns for it, cut the
fabric out of the patterns, and then sew the dress.
This is most expensive as it requires the longest time to do. If you have a unique
idea and want to create it, you want a custom made dress.
Most people confuse this with a "custom tailored dress", see below.
2. What Is Custom Tailored Dress / Gown?
A custom tailored dress or gown is faster to make because it created using
already existing patterns which I can use to cut the fabric and put the dress together.
This is what 95% of my clients do. You can come in, and we'll "mix and match" as
we look through some pictures in catalogues or my own collection of personally
designed dresses.
We can then create the ideal dress for you out of the existing fabric patterns for those
dresses.
3. What is the difference in ordering a dress from a store and
from you?
When you order from a regular wedding / prom dress salon, you will be getting your
dress, most of the time, shipped from over-seas.
This is just like walking into a store in the mall and buying a shirt.
Your dress will not be custom tailored to you, other than the fact that you can pick
what size the dress you want to be. You will usually need the dress altered after you
receive it(after waiting 3-6 months for it), in which case, you will need to pay the
salon extra to do so.
4. Do You Do Alterations?

5. How Much Do You Charge?
I can flat out guarantee you that I will save you half your money if you order your
dress through me. I do not pay over-head, and I know where to get the best and
lowest cost fabrics.
